The following shots were taken on a cold november evening. Even though I live near the city centre I often forget how beautiful it actually is, especially at nite.
Lucerne is very popular with tourists from all over the world. But one could imagine, that some tourist are absolutely amazed by the beauties of the lights in the city, which is one possible reason, why Lucerne is also called the "Leuchtenstadt", the city of lights. Looking at these Pics I understand why.
In the picture below you see part of the Musegg Wall ("Musegg Mauer"). The building of the Musegg Wall probably started in the 12th century and is first mentioned in 1236. As you can also see, the Wall has several towers. 9 of them still exist and 4 of them can be visited from April 1st through November 1st. A visit should be taken into consideration while visiting Lucerne, as the view over Lucerne is beautiful.
In the next picture you can see 3 of the nine towers. The first from left is called Nölli Tower and has just been renovated.
Also newly renovated is the "Zeitturm", the Tower of Time permitting a seldom view of the inside of the watch.
In my next blog I will show even more pictures from Lucerne by nite. So if you've enjoyed these pictures please subscribe to newsletter. Thank you.
